Bellarine Dog Activities Group Inc. is proud to host Nina Bondarenko for a weekend of: 
CANINE BEHAVIOUR, COMMUNICATION AND TRAINING

Nina Bondarenko has been training and working with dogs and many other species for over 30 years. She is a Behavioural Consultant and Lecturer as well as being the author & illustrator of “Hearts, Minds and Paws” and co-author of “Partners for Life”. Nina delivers speaking and training engagements in many countries and is sought after for her knowledge and skills in the behaviour and training of assistance and detection dogs.

SATURDAY 16th March 2019:
SMARTer Seminar
 (See, Mark & Reward Training)
Saturday is a seminar format – no dogs. 50 places available. Cost $50 per person.

SUNDAY 17th March 2019:
Practical one on one sessions with handlers and dogs on training and communication challenges.

A limit of 15 dogs;  however 35 all day observer positions are also available. Cost $50 per observer, or $100 with a dog.
Prospective handlers for this workshop will need to submit an application form, which provides a profile of their dog with their case history and a description of the training or behavioural challenges they are encountering. Nina will select dogs appropriate for the Workshop from the profiles and applicants will be advised.

Places for new members in 2019 are almost full. If you know someone who is considering joining, remind them to check our Joining BDAG (membership) webpage.

Training dates for 2019 are now set (see our new calendar on the Current Members page):
Block 1, 30 January to 28 March
Block 2, 25 April to 21 June
Block 3, 18 July to 19 September
Block 4, 30 October to 12 December.
Two upcoming workshops (further details to come):

1) Alexis Davies ‘Scholars in Collars‘ will return to Victoria in March 2019, Alex will be doing a workshop for BDAG.

2) Ingrid Irwin‘s ‘Reactivity’ workshop planned for a weekend in May 2019. Bookings taken for 8 dogs at $110, observers $75. Participants will be asked to complete some background info and a goals list prior to the training. Ingrid recently ran an excellent information session for BDAG members about reactive dogs.

Event: Equipment shift for Geelong Show
When: October 6 2018
9:00am to 10:30am
Equipment shift  from showgrounds to Storage King on Bellarine highway.
Helpers needed. 9am start.  Finish 10.30am.

Event: Talk: First Aid for dogs by Vet Lauren Bugeja
When: October 10 2018, 7pm.

Cost: Members: $10, non-members: $15 (paid on night).
Venue: Babies Change Room, Geelong Showgrounds  (building behind admin buildings at showgrounds)

Event: Induction for new members (compulsory). No dogs.
When: October 24 2018.
Venue: Babies Change Room, Geelong Showgrounds  (building behind admin buildings at showgrounds).
No dogs that night. All welcome to attend  in case you do not understand our training methods yet, or need reminding.

Event: Shift equipment back to showgrounds.
When: October 27 2018, 9:00am to 10:30am. 

Helpers needed. 9am start.  Finish 10.30am.

Event: Block 4 training starts
When: October 31 (Wednesday classes) or November 1 (Thursday classes).

Event: Talk: Motivation and stress in dogs and understanding your dog better.
When: Wednesday November 7, 7pm.
Free for all members. No training this night.
Venue: Babies Change Room, Geelong Showgrounds  (building behind admin buildings at showgrounds)

Please help us move

We will shift our equipment out of the Cattle Pavilion on 7th October 2017 from 9am-1pm. The equipment will be moved to Storage King on Queenscliff Road Newcomb.
All help appreciated.
Truck available and booked. Cheryl has offered to drive the truck.

BDAG Block training dates for 2017

Block 4 Thursday 26 October Thursday 14 December

Blocks 1, 2 and 4 run on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Block 3 runs only on Wednesday night.

Classes in Block 1 2017 will include: 
Puppy, Foundation 1, Foundation 2, and Geelong Canine Citizen (GCC).
After your dog has passed GCC you can join: Games, Obedience, Tricks and dancing, Scenting, and Agility levels 1 to 6.

Renewing for Block 1:
If you are an existing member returning for Block 1, please:
1) Download the 2017 BDAG existing member renewal and block form,
2) Save the form locally on your computer,
2) Fill in the form and pay the fees,
3) Email the completed file and information about payment to bdag.training@gmail.com.
